If you've got a problem, YO! I'll solve it!

Problem #1: Duncan needed a stocking before Christmas!
Problem #2: Brian is a hoarder! (OK, maybe not so bad he could be on "Buried Alive", but he doesn't like to throw things away!) He had a couple of old wool shirts that were his Grandpa's. Because of their sentimental value, he didn't want to get rid of them, but because they were too small, he couldn't wear them and they were taking up space in our closets!

Solution: I convinced Brian to let me turn one of these shirts into Duncan's stocking...that way he could still keep the shirt, it would just be used in a different way!

Here is the shirt I used before I hacked it up!

A few embellishments with the sewing machine and felting machine and "VOILA!" we have a nice Christmas stocking!

Here is it amongst the other stockings, awaiting Santa's prizes!

Why don't you just "pick" the answer you want??

Conversation between Brian and Keith while in the grocery store the other day:

Keith: Daddy, can I pick my nose?

Brian: I'd rather you didn't.

Keith: Yeah, but CAN I pick my nose?

Brian: I'd really rather you didn't.

Keith: Well, what would happen if I DID pick my nose?

Brian: Keith, I'd just rather you didn't.

Keith: I'm going to pick my nose.

Questions

If I had to guess, I bet I'm asked at least 100 questions a day and approximately half come from Keith. I'm realizing now that, unlike Addy who learned best from books and worksheets, Keith learns best by experience and questions. And his questions are tough! Like: "How many seconds are in 2088 minutes?" "Does a sequoia tree grow anywhere else besides the Pacific coast of America?" "How fast does a train have to go before the wheels get so hot they melt?" And some are complete nonsense, but I actually think he wants an answer. My favorite one so far is: "What would happen if your eyes were made out of spaghetti?"

So, in keeping with this "question" theme, I'm sure a lot of die-hard blogger fans of mine (I believe there are, what, 3 of you??) have been asking this question: WHERE IS THE NEXT BLOG POST??? WHAT HAPPENED?? Well, here's your answer: facebook. Thats right, facebook happened. I began to realize that, many times, I was posting the same thing on facebook that I was here on the blog and most people (except Nicole who stubbornly refuses to join facebook) were getting this stuff twice. Now, I know my life is exciting, but surely that's over kill for even the best of friends! However, recently Addison had class project where she had to come up with a funny story from her preschool years. Since I don't keep baby books, the only place I could turn for this information was my blog. So we sat down for an evening and read through it. It was then that I realized that, even if just for my own memory, I need to start this blog thing back up again. So, here I am. Please forgive me. I will try to be more faithful to you, my true blog fans. No more cheating on you with facebook. I promise.

So, here are some photo highlights of what has happened with our family since the last post:

End of May 2009: Tracy and I meet in San Diego for a girls trip

June 21, 2009: Keith and Addy meet Thomas the Tank Engine

September 2, 2009: Keith turns FOUR!

Beginning of October, 2009: Family trip to Door County Wisconsin with Mark and Stephanie Repko

October 31, 2009: The Titanic sails again! This time with a ladybug!! Instead of crashing into an iceberg, it crashes into a sugar coma about 930 that evening!!

December 20, 2009: The whole family rides The Polar Express. Due to the number of people they attempt to squeeze on this ride, it is not recommend for people with a butt-span more than 12 inches:

January 31, 2010: Addy turns SIX!! And I join the cult, er...I mean buy something I swore I would NEVER buy...An American Girl doll!!

March 20, 2010: Tracy gets married!! I was the maid of honor, but since I was already huge with baby in belly, we will only show her and Jared's picture!

March 25, 2010: Addy gives her first oral presentation as a yellow spotted salamander for her Kindergarten class

March 31, 2010: Our annual trip to the Islander!

May 25, 2010: Addy graduates from Kindergarten! So bittersweet!

July 1, 2010: We visit Aunt Beth and Uncle Kyle in New Jersey.

August 8, 2010: Celebration of Keith's FIFTH birthday, a little premature (just in case baby is born near his actual birthday!) He was thrilled to spend the night on an ACTUAL train car!

September 11, 2010: Yes, folks, this day is no longer going to be just a remembrance of one of the worst days in American history. Now it is a celebration of life for us!! Duncan Moses Billmeier was born!! yay!!

WHEW! That was a lot of uploading. Now, I'm off to find the answer to a recurring question: How long will it take for me to put away my laundry?? (and how many times will I procrastinate actually doing it!??!)

Until next blog,
Jen
